In Memory Of Anne-Marie Andre

Anne-Marie grew up in Rolle where she went to school. After spells in the Tessin and in England, she worked in Geneva, first for the Post Office, then for two different banks. She moved to St Cergue where she was heavily involved in the life of the commune. Anne-Marie became a follower of Jesus in 1965 through the witness of a friend. In the 1980s she became a member of Crossroads Church in Ferney Voltaire where she was involved in leadership and in children's ministry. In 1993 she went to Africa on a missions' trip became the first step in over a decade of work with Food for the Hungry.

In 1998 she was employed to work with Food for the Hungry. Her involvement with Africa became a passion for Anne-Marie and she worked hard to develop support for holistic mission work there. It was around the same time that she moved to Westlake where she was a member of the missions' committee. It was almost 2 years ago that Anne-Marie was diagnosed with cancer, and so began a battle that would last until early Sunday morning, when she went to be with Jesus.

For much of her illness she remained active, even managing a trip to Africa with Kathryn Granges and Sharon Bentzen earlier this year.Anne-Marie leaves us an example of a life well lived for Jesus, and she leaves a legacy of interest in part of what God wants to do in Africa.
