19 Dec 2008 – from Denny
Our family isn't the same without you Anthony. With news of your passing a huge light went out in our lives (and in the world). All we can do is remember you, our good times, and try to honor the energy and spirit you shared with us EVERY day. Words aren't enough and cannot fully explain this mess of pain and loss, especially during the holidays. We miss you so much and will make sure your son knows who you were and what you meant to us.

I just found this site tonight. Sadly, I just discovered that one of my former soldiers has passed away. Bento was one of my soldiers at Ft. Benning, where I was a Drill Sergeant. My condolences to you and your family.

Trying to get Anthony to sit still for any time was hopeless. His energy bounced off the walls, outside the windows, all over his peers. Was that your 'Achilles the Carrot' poster, Anthony? he drew it after reading the iliad. Students year after year handled it and copied it unt...

2 Oct 2007 – from Enrique Torres
Although I did not personally know Anthony my sons, Joaquin and Romualdo Torres and their friends talked about him always throughout the years. I know Theron and Anthony were especially tight friends. In a way I felt I knew him through their friendships. They were especially proud of him of late because he was such a great soldier. The 101st is no ordinary Army unit, only the best and the most elite soldiers can make the grade. Anthony was special. Romualdo spoke glowingly about him and I belie...

Dear Bento Family,
I wanted to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. Nathan talked about his uncle often in the classroom and was so very proud of his service to our country. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
