As a former scout of Troop 151, Gene was one of my favorite leaders, pushing my limits. I have followed his footsteps in the Scouting tradition and we have lost a great one, but Heaven gained an ally.

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Gene. He was my classmate at Sacred Heart school. He went to Odea and I went to Holy Names in high school but we kept in touch thru CYO. Gene took me to his senior prom and we had fun together. Jan and Gene hosted parties at their home where all the kids in that group got together after we were all married. The last time I saw Gene was at my husbands memorial on Aug. 23, 2014. His son Scott brought him and I was so happy to see both of them. Gene and I talked on the phone a few times after that. I tried to call him recently and when I heard the phone was disconnected I knew something was wrong. Thru Google I just learned this sad news and type this message with tears in my eyes. He was such a great guy, husband and I'm sure, father. I'm still going thru the grief process, so I know how hard this is for family. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. We must believe and picture Gene, Jan and my husband, Larry, in heaven well and happy. God bless you all, Sharon Griffith. p.s. I love the picture of your Dad
