Mr. Francis Yaw Apau Addo was born in Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana. His parents, Mr. J.K. Addo and Madam Rebecca Amponsah of Koforidua are both deceased. He was educated at St. Augustine's Secondary School in Cape-Coast, followed by Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology and post-graduate studies in the United Kingdom. He was an extremely successful Quantity Surveyor and Arbitrator with his own practice in Accra, namely, Building Industry Consultants. He won several awards for outstanding achievement throughout his career.

Francis suddenly passed away on Monday 12 July 2010 at the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital in Accra after a long illness. He left behind a large family in Ghana, United Kingdom and United States of America.

The entire family of the late Francis Addo wish to express their appreciation and gratitude to all who contributed physically, spiritually, emotionally, financially and other diverse ways since their beloved grandfather, father, uncle, brother, nephew and cousin died.
